.LU domain name

Registration:

There are no special conditions for registering .LU domain names. If your .LU domain name is still available, you can register it without any restrictions whether you are a company, organization or private individual. You do not need to reside in Luxembourg or, for companies, to be set up in Luxembourg.

Renewal:

A renewal extends the domain name for one year. Renewal procedure must be carried out before the domain's expiration date otherwise the domain will switch to quarantine status for a 40 days period before being removed. During this status, the domain is no longer active but can still be restored.

Change of owner:

This procedure is called a “trade” and allows the owner to sell a domain name to a third party. During a trade, the seller and the buyer receive a mail for approval from the registry. When both responses are positives, the trade is completed.
