Requirements
In order to proceed with a transfer, two cases can arise depending on whether the domain is currently managed by a Maintainer or a Registrar at the .IT registry.

Case No. 1
If the domain is managed by a Maintainer (XXXX-MNT) at the Registry, once your order has been confirmed, we send you a form to request the transfer to NETIM. This document has to be signed by the owner and sent directly to the registry by the way of his choice.

  • In the event of acceptance by the registry, the transfer is carried out.
  • In the event of refusal, a valid form has to be provided and so on

The request will not be accepted by the registry if the document is not provided or not valid.
The full transfer procedure can therefore take several days because of the paperwork.

Case No. 2
If the domain is managed by an accredited registrar (XXXX-REG) at the Registry, once your order has been confirmed, we send a request for the transfer of your domain name to the registry with an autorization code (You must obtain this code at the current registrar)

  • In the event of acceptance, the transfer is immediatly carried out.
  • In the event of refusal, the transfer is cancelled.

Once the transfer has been finalised, the domain name's expiration date is extended for a one year period starting from the date of the end of transfer. For example, if the domain expires on the 12/31/2010 and if the transfer is carried out on the 09/15/2010, the new expiration date will then be the 09/15/2011.

  Important information

  • Deadline for transfer: 1 week before expiration of the domain name in case 1, the day before expiration of the domain name in case 2.
  • Ideal date for transfer: 2 weeks before expiration of the domain name
