Procedure for transferring .ME domain name

Requirements
To initiate the transfer of a domain name .ME, you will be asked to provide an authorization code (AuthID). You can obtain it from your current reseller or your domain name's registrar.

Different stages
Once your order has been confirmed, we will send a request for the transfer of your domain name to the registry with the autorization code. The latter will contact the current registrar to request its approval:

• In the event of acceptance within 5 days, the transfer is immediatly carried out.
• In the event of refusal, the transfer is cancelled.
• In the event of failure to reply within 5 days, the transfer is carried out.

Once the transfer has been finalised, the domain name's expiration date is extended for a one year period starting from the date of the end of transfer. For example, if the domain expires on the 12/31/2011 and if the transfer is carried out on the 09/15/2011, the new expiration date will then be the 09/15/2011.

• Deadline for transfer: the day before expiration of the domain name
• Ideal date for transfer: 2 weeks before expiration of the domain name
• The domain name must not have been registered or transfered within the last 60 days
